The Reelig Glen is a 25 minute drive south of Dingwall. Use SatNav IV5 7PR but don't follow this right to the end - as soon as you see the brown signs saying "Forest Walk" on the A862, follow them, as the SatNav tries to take you via someone's private garden!
If you love an easy walk, listening to birds and water flowing gently and being surrounded by beautiful trees....you are in for a treat. There is a mile round route that will lead you along the river Moniak and a path walking past the tallest trees in the UK. The trees are Douglas Firs and stand over 170ft (50m) tall, the tallest measuring 200ft (64m) in 2000. Keep an eye out for the very camouflaged signage by trees (wooden poles with the tree details slotted into the tops). There are picnic tables in the most incredible places, it is well worth packing a lunch and spending some time there.
