Dingwall to Kyle of Lochalsh (Attadale and Isle of Skye)
The train journey from Dingwall to Kyle of Lochalsh is approximately 2 hours.
The current timetable for this trip is as follows (please check for any changes and different times for Sundays) -
|KYLE OF LOCHALSH||1130||1335||1612|
|KYLE OF LOCHALSH||1208||1346||1713|
The train is made up of two carriages. If you are lucky enough to have a less busy train, you could try and start your journey sitting on the left hand side facing forward and then switch to the right side a little into the journey to get the most of the views. But if the train is busy, try to sit on the right hand side facing forward to get a good view of the lochs and mountains in the Scottish Highlands later on in the journey.
If you want to include a stop at the Attadale Gardens in your journey, you need to request this stop by letting the onboard conductor know that you wish to stop there.
Kyle of Lochalsh is a very small coastal village, but there are a few places to eat (good seafood) and things to do include the Kyle Signal Box Model Railway Exhibition, boat tours (including a glass bottom boat), scenic wildlife trips and minibus day tours to the Isle of Skye. You could also cycle to and around the Isle of Skye if you take your bicycle (keep in mind the time for the last train back!!).
