Chanonry Point - Dolphins
Just a half an hour drive from Dingwall onto the Black Isle (SatNav IV10 8SD), you will find the best place for spotting dolphins in the Scottish Highlands.
Chanonry Point is a lovely spot to stop with parking (soon to be charging so take some change) and picnic benches, perfect for dolphin watching. There are sometimes ice-cream vans there, but no toilets or anywhere else for food or drinks in walking distance. So best to take something if you plan to sit for awhile. There is an active lighthouse right by and keep a look out for stone monument and information board about Brahan Seer.
Amazing images taken by a local photography Charlie Phillips can be seen on his website - http://www.charliephillipsimages.co.uk/ - as well a more information about the dolphins. A good guide on how to take photos of dolphins can be seen on this site - https://www.naturettl.com/photograph-dolphins/
To get to the other side of the lighthouse....there is a path in between the houses opposite the main parking area.
